Third in a Series of Studies on Ephesians 1:15-23

and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power(Ephesians 1:19).

As Paul continues his prayer for the Ephesians, he mentions the third wonderful spiritual blessing he wants them to “know”: the superlative nature of God’s power in blessing all believers—that is, “the greatness of His power toward us who believe.”

Having a knowledge of the Ephesians’ great faith in the Lord Jesus, Paul wants them to understand even more deeply what God has done for them in sending Jesus to the earth: God’s unsurpassed power has orchestrated what was needed so they could have salvation through Jesus.

The faith of any believer should be strengthened beyond measure when he reaches a fuller understanding of the gift of mercy, grace, and salvation that God has granted to mankind.

Such a realization should bolster our faith to the point that we determine we shall not waver, we shall not allow the wiles of the devil to lead us away from the Supreme Ruler of the universe, we shall overcome all obstacles and persevere to the end.
