A God of Perfection (7/19/2026)

“For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness,Nor shall evil dwell with You” (Psalm 5:4).

David opens this morning prayer with a plea for God’s good pleasure and for God to hear him. In this verse, he brings to the forefront the foundation of God’s character—and the necessity for God’s having to create a system of forgiveness for straying mankind.

Because of God’s perfection, not only did He not take pleasure in wickedness but wickedness could not exist within His presence; yet, He was determined to create a vehicle through which He could remain perfect and still allow His creation to be with Him.

That vehicle involved a sacrifice on His part and acceptance of a plan for cleansing on the part of His creation: it demanded a sacrifice for sin that He could accept as payment for man’s violation of His will. Jesus voluntarily became the sacrifice, and the gospel became the plan for redemption.

With all preparations made and with the payment for sin accomplished, all that is left is for each individual in every Age to submit; that is, to complete the cycle of God’s plan, we must obey the plan of salvation as outlined in the New Testament, thus, bringing ourselves under the loving grace of God and being in a position for God to accept us into His eternal Home.
