Omnipresence of God (11/5/2023)

The eyes of the Lord are in every place,

“Keeping watch on the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3).

Presenting an ever-present truth about God for every age, Solomon here provides words that are wonderful and encouraging for those who love God and keep His commandments and that should sound a penetrating warning to those who choose to ignore God’s word and live according to the ways of men.

That God is “in every place” proves beyond doubt that He is aware of all our actions, both our sins and our good deeds. Our sins would include the transgressions we commit with the mistaken idea that we can sin and get away with it, the transgressions we commit in ignorance, and those we commit with the idea that God will not hold “this one” against us.

“The good” would include the wholesome lives we live as is commanded in His word as well as the good we do in helping others to know about Jesus, the good we do for others, and the good we do for the Cause.

This verse was never intended to cause us to have a shrinking fear of God—it was intended as a positive piece of information that should put into perspective the Creator we serve. He loves us, wants us to feel His presence, and desires that we obey His word because we love Him.
